Saturday 9-13 we documented the Canon Clean Earth Crew clean up at Robert Moses Beach. It was an interesting experience. After the Robert Moses Crew cleaned the beach with their mechanical rakes, over two hundred Canon employees and their families descended on the beach to clean it by hand. To my surprise they collected over 250 pounds of "bad stuff" that was too small for the machines to pick up, including many things that are extremely harmful to the wildlife on the beach.
During the course of the day I had a very interesting conversation with the CEO of Canon U.S.A. about the future of professional photography and the direction Canon was going to take. It seems that we are in for some interesting times ahead.
